Human intelligence peaked several thousand years ago and we've been on an intellectual and emotional decline ever since. Read more:

On the 1st of November 2012 I read the following statement:

These creatures took away from men their great abilities: The power to only speak through the spirit, the power to move things through the spirit only, the power to see the future and the past and the power to travel spiritually in different worlds.

It appeared on this website on the webpage 2012 Nov 01 – Tokoloshes, the power of language and paradise.

On that webpage I reported about a Sangoma and this Sangoma made this just quoted statement. This Sangoma said about himself that he moves in two worlds, in the African-mystical and the modern real one.

The name of this Sangoma is Credo Mutwa and here some details about him:

Vusamazulu Credo Mutwa (born 21 July 1921 in Natal, now KwaZulu-Natal) is a Zulu Sangoma and Sanusi from South Africa. He is also the author of several books.

Where Christian doctors had failed, his grandfather, a man whom his father despised as a heathen and demon worshipper, helped him back to health. At this point Credo began to question many of the things about his people the missionaries would have them believe. "Were we Africans really a race of primitives who possessed no knowledge at all before the white man came to Africa?" he asked himself. His grandfather instilled in him the belief that his illness was a sacred sign that he was to become a shaman, a healer. He underwent initiation from one of his grandfather's daughters, young sangoma named Myrna.

So that gives some background about that man and now some information about a Sangoma:

Traditional healers of South Africa are practitioners of traditional African medicine in Southern Africa. They fulfill different social and political roles in the community, including divination, healing physical, emotional and spiritual illnesses, directing birth or death rituals, finding lost cattle, protecting warriors, counteracting witches, and narrating the history, cosmology, and myths of their tradition.

In a typical session, a patient will visit the sangoma and the sangoma must determine what the affliction is or the reason the patient has come to them for help.

Now this is a nice way to check if the sangoma is any good. Just imagine a patient would request this from a doctor of modern medicine. Just this detail alone nicely demonstrates the decline of mankind, the decline form the old ways of Africa to the new ways of the West.

Now here we come already to the subject of this webpage, are we progressing and are we advancing or is mankind actually declining and degenerating?

Spiritual writings are saying that we are progressing, but that is only happening when an old redemption period comes to an end and a new one starts, like now, this one comes to an end because of complete collapse of the relationship between man and God and then a new one starts and that start is the big progress because the new redemption period starts with a situation where men live in paradise and are close to God and therefore give all the spiritual which is still bound in matter a much better opportunity to get out of matter and advance.

Now this idea of decline during a redemption period is normally not shared by modern science. Modern science seems to always assume that man was primitive and now man is advancing and all our modern achievements and technologies prove that men makes tremendous progress.

Today now I read something that contradicts this theory. The scientist coming up with this does not seem to be a man with spiritual inclinations but he still has a different idea than his colleagues have.

Here now some statements from an article I read today:

Controversial study suggests human intelligence peaked several thousand years ago and we've been on an intellectual and emotional decline ever since.

Is the human species doomed to intellectual decline? Will our intelligence ebb away in centuries to come leaving our descendants incapable of using the technology their ancestors invented? In short: will Homo be left without his sapiens?

This is the controversial hypothesis of a leading geneticist who believes that the immense capacity of the human brain to learn new tricks is under attack from an array of genetic mutations that have accumulated since people started living in cities a few thousand years ago.

Professor Gerald Crabtree, who heads a genetics laboratory at Stanford University in California, has put forward the iconoclastic idea that rather than getting cleverer, human intelligence peaked several thousand years ago and from then on there has been a slow decline in our intellectual and emotional abilities.

Although we are now surrounded by the technological and medical benefits of a scientific revolution, these have masked an underlying decline in brain power which is set to continue into the future leading to the ultimate dumbing-down of the human species, Professor Crabtree said.

His argument is based on the fact that for more than 99 per cent of human evolutionary history, we have lived as hunter-gatherer communities surviving on our wits, leading to big-brained humans. Since the invention of agriculture and cities, however, natural selection on our intellect has effective stopped and mutations have accumulated in the critical "intelligence" genes.

"I would wager that if an average citizen from Athens of 1000BC were to appear suddenly among us, he or she would be among the brightest and most intellectually alive of our colleagues and companions, with a good memory, a broad range of ideas and a clear-sighted view of important issues,"¯ Professor Crabtree says in a provocative paper published in the journal Trends in Genetics.

"Furthermore, I would guess that he or she would be among the most emotionally stable of our friends and colleagues. I would also make this wager for the ancient inhabitants of Africa, Asia, India or the Americas, of perhaps 2,000 to 6,000 years ago,"¯ Professor Crabtree says.

"The basis for my wager comes from new developments in genetics, anthropology, and neurobiology that make a clear prediction that our intellectual and emotional abilities are genetically surprisingly fragile," he says.

A comparison of the genomes of parents and children has revealed that on average there are between 25 and 65 new mutations occurring in the DNA of each generation. Professor Crabtree says that this analysis predicts about 5,000 new mutations in the past 120 generations, which covers a span of about 3,000 years.

Some of these mutations, he suggests, will occur within the 2,000 to 5,000 genes that are involved in human intellectual ability, for instance by building and mapping the billions of nerve cells of the brain or producing the dozens of chemical neurotransmitters that control the junctions between these brain cells.

Life as a hunter-gatherer was probably more intellectually demanding than widely supposed, he says. "A hunter-gatherer who did not correctly conceive a solution to providing food or shelter probably died, along with his or her progeny, whereas a modern Wall Street executive that made a similar conceptual mistake would receive a substantial bonus and be a more attractive mate," Professor Crabtree says.

And now a statement from Jesus about all of this:

The schools of Egypt have died and exist in this way already since are very long time no more; because at the time of Moses it started to have very much a problem with it. Already then it started to just teach external instructions, and a Plato and a Socrates were so almost the last, who still had a faint idea of the inner school of life.

But I have now therefore come in the flesh of this world to give you men a still better life regulation, according to which everyone can put himself into the highest wisdom of life. And this regulation goes very short: >Above all love God out of all your powers and your neighbour like yourself!< Who practises and does this fully, he is equal to me and also exactly through this will be guided into all wisdom and its power and might!

The old wisdom of Africa seems to be better informed about the true conditions than many so-called wise men of our time. And the spirituality of the wise men of Africa seems to come off far better particularly compared with the spirituality of so-called Christianity.

2012 Oct 25 – A landslide for Obama – If the world got to vote
2012 Oct 25 (2) – Spiritual decline

Above we read that the human brain is under attack from an array of genetic mutations. Now that reminds me of the deterioration of the human body due to lack of spiritual input from the soul. Instead of the soul influencing the body to become more and more spiritual, to be spiritualized, to be glorified, it is actually the other way round, the body influences the soul and the soul becomes more and more like the body and declines, "there has been a slow decline in our intellectual and emotional abilities."
