Faith in Jesus Christ. Reduced suffering.

18. Januar 1955. B.D. NR. 6168.

There would be no need on earth to be so much misery and trouble, when men would remember more their saviour and redeemer, who took the suffering of the whole mankind upon his shoulders and has suffered for it and died on the cross. He bore it for mankind - but it must believe in him and his work of redemption, for only that sin guilt can be regarded as wiped out, which is carried to him - under his cross in the belief and in the hope, that Jesus Christ has given his blood for it, that also this guilt is wiped out. But who does not believe in the redemption through Jesus' blood, his sin guilt still burdens that man, and he must do the atonement himself for it; he must himself bear all the suffering, which is the effect of his former sin - trouble and illness, sorrow and suffering. Jesus knew about it, that mankind has to suffer unspeakably, because of its great sin guilt. And his compassionate love took the suffering, the result of sin, upon himself. He wanted to clear it away through his suffering and a most painful death; he wanted to do atonement, so that men could become free from misery and trouble so that they again found back to God in this freedom, from whom they had once voluntarily separated themselves. Jesus Christ died for all men. Therefore, all men can bring their sins to him. They will find forgiveness; they will become free of their sin burden, because the divine redeemer has taken off all burden from them and has burdened himself with it out of extreme great love. But it is certainly easily comprehensible, that he also wants to be acknowledged as redeemer of the world - it is comprehensible, that only he becomes free of his guilt, who believes in Jesus Christ as God's son and redeemer of the world - that only he finds forgiveness, who comes to him with his guilt and asks him, to also remember him, who therefore consciously places himself under the cross of Christ, to let himself be washed clean by his blood from all guilt. But how do men now stand towards him? Can one still speak of a living faith in him, in whom God himself has embodied himself? Mankind no longer wants to acknowledge him, except few, who belong to him. The work of redemption of Christ no longer means anything to men - and for that reason they all remain unredeemed, who do not acknowledge him so, as he wants to be acknowledged. And the sin burden masses together tremendously; men must suffer under the effect of sin, because divine justice demands from men themselves atonement, who do not belong to the crowed of the redeemed, because they themselves isolate themselves from him, because they do not belong to those, who Jesus Christ has redeemed from sin and who therefore do not belong to the redeemed, because they do not acknowledge the divine redeemer, therefore do not believe, that eternal love itself took the death on the cross upon itself, to bring redemption to men. No man is eliminated from the work of redemption - but who eliminates himself, he also cannot lay claim to the favours of the work of redemption, and he will therefore not be able to turn away from him a terrible lot, which certainly expects him in the opposite kingdom, when it does not affect him on earth already. For atonement must be done according to divine justice by everyone, who does not bring his sin to Jesus Christ, who has died for all men on the cross, to redeem them.
Amen. B.D. NR. 6168.
