The loving man cannot deny God out of conviction.

21. July 1952. B.D. NR. 5444.

What you do to those, who are in trouble that you have done to me. As soon as love drives you to help fellowman in spiritual trouble or earthly trouble, you also love me, for love seizes everything, and therefore you can no longer exclude me, me who am myself eternal love, so you feel love in you. To whom you give love does not matter; love always remains something divine; it is always a sign of the approach to eternal love. Therefore I accept every work of love as done for me and reciprocate love in increased measure, why the preparedness to love will always increase more and more, until the nature of man has completely become love. For that reason a loving man cannot negate me myself as eternal love, so he is seriously put before the question, whether he believes in a God, who is love in himself. He cannot do it with conviction; but the possibility exists that he does not ask this question himself full seriously; that he thoughtlessly denies an eternal divinity to take the opposite side. He therefore could believe so he wanted it, but the will lacks, which would result in a concerning himself with this problem. To be able to believe presupposes a wanting to believe; as soon as the will is there, the previous doubts melt away immediately, when he mentally concerns himself with a teaching, which must get accepted and also can get accepted with good will. The objection "I cannot believe" is untruthfulness, because the will to believe does then not yet exist. To a loving man the conviction can come very easily, because faith emerges out of love; by comparison it is difficult for a completely loveless man, to win this faith, and for that reason love must be practised before, when the will to faith exists, what however will rarely be the case with a loveless man. But without faith there is no happiness, for I cannot give away myself to a man and open my glories to him, so he does not acknowledge me, therefore believes in me as loving, extremely wise and omnipotent being. The acknowledgement of me myself causes me to give away unmeasured, and I prepare an unsuspected glory to the souls, but possession they can only take in faith in me. But not I refuse to give myself to man, but he himself accepts nothing from me, since he does not accept me, since negates my existence. But I also do not give up the most unbelieving soul; I again and again approach it and seek to reveal my identity. Once I will also succeed; once also the most unbelieving soul will know that there is a being to which it owes its existence, and once it will also recognize its perfection and long for its love. Then it itself will also be able and willing to love, and then it will be able to believe firmly and undoubtedly and approach me in this faith; it will long for me and also find fulfilment; it will come to me voluntarily, and I will receive it, because it now loves me and believes in me. Amen.
