After students of the college reported the encroachments to the head of the school 1981, he was first silently moved to Göttingen. When also there accusations were made known, he was passed on to Hildesheim 1989. 1994 he was discharged from the Jesuit Order, but the Diocese Hildesheim agreed to carry on employing him further as pastor. The Catholic Church seems to deport sex priest to the Diocese Hildesheim. That seems to be the place of refuge for them. But what is still more important, is that they are there also supply with material for raping. In the Hildesheim diocese children raping priest are taken in and protected and supplied with access to children, priests who somewhere else are no longer wanted, but are only no longer wanted because they did not manage to keep their crimes out of the limelight. That it is what gets punished in the Catholic Church, but only then when appears to be opportune. The criminal priest only then gets punished there when he let himself getting caught. That is the actual crime, not the raping of children, because that belongs to the office, as allowance.

The Diocese Hildesheim we had already once in the news:
2011 Jul 18 – Germany: Salzgitter - priest admits abuse
that was the first report about child abuse in the diocese Hildesheim.

Then these followed:

Today now I read about a Catholic priest, who was reported in Berlin for encroachments and who was then as a result silently moved to Göttingen. There he again attracted attention and was passed on to Hildesheim. That was his last place of refuge. Because the Diocese Hildesheim agreed to carry on employing him as pastor. So he was not only kept in the church, not just with full reputation and dignity and salary and office, but also again with a supply of children for raping – the speciality of the Diocese Hildesheim.

Here now extracts from a report of today:

Abuse cases at the Canisius College in Berlin

Four years after the abuse accusations at the Canisius College became known one of two main culprits has been sentenced by a church court of the Archdiocese Berlin. He must pay 4000 Euros penalty – though not for the cases at the Berlin Jesuit secondary school.

At the end of January 2010 Jesuit Pater Klaus Mertes publicized that youth were sexually abused at the Canisius College in the 70s and 80s. As has become known now, the church court of the archdiocese Berlin has sentenced one of the main culprits to a fine of 4000 Euro in November 2013. The today 72-years-old Jesuit pater is also no longer allowed to practise the office of a priest, but remains a priest.

The culprit was sentenced for one single case, which happened as the pater was later active in the Diocese Hildesheim as parish priest. 2003 he was retired early. His acts have legally come under the statute of limitations, but from church view: The Vatican has repealed the limitation.

So that is therefore the result of a criminal within the Catholic Church. All his life the Catholic Church supplied him with victims for his crimes and now he can carry on drawing his pension and he couldn’t care less about the 4000 Euro with a monthly income and they also go to the society of child abusers.

And now another extract from another report:

His earlier co-brother Peter Riedel, who as head of unofficial school youth works at the Canisius College, abused dozens of boys, was moved to Göttingen, after victims had drawn per letter the attention of his acts to the order. As pastor in several parishes in Lower Saxony he had further contact to youths; again and again also there were accusations of abuse, again and again Riedel was moved. 2003 he was retired honourably, even so early. Since then he again lives in Berlin.

In January 2014 it became known that Riedel was sentenced by a secret church court in December 2013. He is no longer allowed to carry out the office of a priest; he must pay a fine of 4000 Euro. The punishment related to the abuse of a girl in his time in the Diocese Hildesheim.
