In the past five years a creeping extremism has taken over the US government, and it threatens to radically change the political system and the USA as a nation. This extremism is driven by theories of unlimited presidential powers, which is completely foreign and opposing political fundamental principles, which have governed this country since its founding. Today I read an article about Glenn Greenwald.

Here extracts from it:

“Snowden can become worst US nightmare”

Glenn Greenwald is the name of the journalist who spread the knowledge of the whistleblower Edward Snowden.

Glenn Greenwald, the investigating journalist who helped the NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden with the spreading of top secret documents out of Hong Kong, talks in any case about experiences in passing of his work, which could come out of a spy thriller.

There is the mysterious burglary into the house in Rio de Janeiro.

“When I was in Hong Kong I talked to my partner in Rio via Skype and told him that I would send him an electronic coded copy of the document”, so Greenwald.

“But then I did not manage to do it. Two days later his laptop was stolen out of our house, and nothing else was taken along. Something like this never happened before. I do not say this stands in a connection, but this possibility obviously exists.”

“The US government should pray on its knees every day that nothing happens to Snowden”, Greenwald recently told the Argentine daily "La Nación", "because if something happens to him all his information is revealed, and that could become their worst nightmare.”

Greenwald helped Snowden bringing his material from Hong Kong to the public and to save a completely unknown part. Greenwald himself says Snowden has send a kind of “safeguard” of the documents, which were smuggled by him out of the NSA post on Hawaii, in coded form to several persons. There it is about “several thousand pages”, of which up to now only a very small part has been published.

“In the past five years a creeping extremism has taken over our government, and it threatens to radically change our political system and our nation.” This extremism is “in its nature neither conservative nor liberal, but instead is driven by theories of unlimited presidential powers, which are completely foreign and opposing political fundamental principles, which have governed this country since its founding”.
