I now bring parts of the article I read today and also comments of readers, which follow the article:

Total surveillance

That is how thoroughly we will be spied out

In the dessert of Utah the US Secret Service NSA erects a gigantic spying centre: there the contents of worldwide all emails, telephone calls, Google search enquiries as well as travel routes are to be analysed.

A new super computer of the US Secret Service NSA is in future to decode even news which is coded according to the best standards. From finance transactions to diplomatic secrets everything is to be quickly deciphered.

In the age of the internet the code makers therefore seem to be still somewhat ahead of the code breakers.

According to information of the American secret service expert and book author James Bamford code breakers could now however again have their turn after decades of disadvantage. 1982 Bamford published the first work about the highly secret National Security Agency (NSA) and since then has excellent connections to current and former co-workers of the NSA.

NSA is regarded as centre of code breakers. Since World War II it is regarded as classic eavesdrop authority among the American secret services. By electronic and digital means it intercepts worldwide news. Its satellite reconnaissance under the code name Echelon was already years ago described as "vacuum cleaner in space."

James Bamford reports how NSA erects its up to now perhaps largest data centre in the desert of Utah. According to Bamford the so-called Utah Data Centre is to be "the last puzzle stone" which the gigantic surveillance complex of NSA still lacks.

Not only the contents of emails, telephone calls and Google search enquiries are to be processed in Utah but also other personal data like parking tickets, travel routes, book purchases and other digital tracks. It is to be able to store and process all data which NSA collects worldwide and in the USA itself.

According to Bamford the servers will stand on an area of 8000 square metres in the new data centre. And a further area of 275,000 square metres is to be allowed for data stores.

The amount of information which can be stored here is hardly imaginable. Because today one Terabytes of date fits already on a chip as big as a fingernail. But the amount of data NSA wants to capture is enormous.

The Pentagon for instance tries to handle Yottabytes of data in its worldwide communication network to be able to use satellite pictures as well as sensor and communications data live.

NSA will also be able to store and process several Yottabytes of data. With that it can store data for several years which are published in the internet all the time. From autumn 2013, so Bamford, the idea of total information editing could finally be translated with the centre, which is erected for two billion dollars.

No information, no matter how protected, is secure.

But for NSA it is not only about to find new connections in the data available in public. For it it is about the invisible net, about data which are protected by encoded password. In Utah the NSA wants to again apply itself to its old virtue, the breaking of codes. It wants to be able to decipher the code of finance and share transactions, military and diplomatic secrets faster.

Above all two things are preconditions for this: Super-fast computers for one, which can break coded news by pure power of computing. On the other hand they need as much as possible news to be able to give the computers as much as possible food for the analysis.

These now were the excerpts from the article I read today and now follow reader’s comments which follow the article:

The country of these self-appointed world policemen are to be boycotted as and where it is just possible.

Switch off PC and cell phone out and it is quiet.

Unfortunately this is not quite true. Even with switched off cell phone one can still be located.

And when you have neither cell phone nor computer, you are anyhow suspicious and get investigated.

The Americans are suspicious to me.

I would not like to live in that country, let alone be buried.

Google, Facebook, Cloud, email, telephone…. even encoding does not help there because the providers grant (must) access to unencrypted data.
