Today I read an article that reminded me of words of Jesus and I now bring some excerpts from this arcticel:

Vatican bulges with intrigue

The Roman Catholic Church’s scandal after scandal and claims of a leadership crisis attest to an institution at war with itself.

The Vatican has long been said by those who know it to be a nest of vipers. But recently the poison has been laid bare for everyone to see as leak after embarrassing leak has revealed an institution at war with itself.

This year we have read about documents warning of a “death threat” against the pope, widespread nepotism and corruption, exiled whistle-blowers, gay smear campaigns and embarrassing revelations about the Vatican’s tax affairs.

For Valerio Gigante, a Vaticanologist at the Adista religious news website, the church is suffering a moral crisis.

“The contradiction at the heart of the church grows greater all the time. It exists for moral reasons, but also generates huge amounts of money and is ever more occupied with political and economic power,” he said.

Another Vatican watcher, Robert Mickens, of The Tablet weekly, has a simpler take on the Holy See’s woes. “It’s arrogance. The people in charge still think the Vatican is above ordinary laws.”

He says last week’s sacking of the Vatican bank chief Ettore Gotti Tedeschi is another example of this.

That where the quotes and now another quote:

Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye build the tombs of the prophets, and garnish the sepulchres of the righteous, And say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets. Wherefore ye be witnesses unto yourselves, that ye are the children of them which killed the prophets. Fill ye up then the measure of your fathers. Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell? Matthew 23:29-33.
