The whole extent of sexual abuse is only known to the Catholic Church itself.

The Catholic Church seems to carry on to prevent the becoming known of abuse cases. And this behaviour will probably cause much more damage to the church than when it would disclose and admit everything because now the whole hypocrisy and the whole web of lies will come to light more and more and this church, and then the whole of orthodoxy, will be destroyed. Today I once again thought about what I had reported about two days ago, about the abuse of the Catholic Church in Belgium, and came to the conclusion that this church, the worldwide Catholic Church, is in a quandary, and will probably not be able to free itself from it.
If it would be honest, as it actually pretends to be, and makes all cases public, then all cases would become known on a worldwide level and that would be a disaster for the church as the extent would be vast. At the moment the church has the advantage that only itself knows approximately how extensive the whole thing is. And it seems to make use of this advantage and hopes, it will stay that way.
Only in very few cases the public gets informed as the church now only admits cases which have already become public. And these cases again only become known to a limited number of people, to exactly those who can read the language in which the facts are stated. A few things get translated into other languages, but that seems to be rather the exception. The incidents in Belgium seem to have been taken up by only a few foreign-language media, and they are therefore a good example. That I once read about incidents in Chile was probably rather "pure chance."
So as it looks at the moment the church seems to carry on to prevent the becoming known of cases. And this behaviour will probably cause much more damage to the church than when it would disclose and admit everything because now the whole hypocrisy and the whole web of lies will come to light more and more and this church, and then the whole of orthodoxy, will be destroyed. Since the 28th of January 2010 there is no end to the flow of news about this subject and it can hardly be expected that this will change.
There now seems to be preparedness in the media to take up these subjects and this again will produce preparedness with the victims to come forward because now there is someone who could believe them. The victim in Belgium seems to have sensed the preparedness of the Belgian newspapers and has reacted to it. And the technical possibilities of today to provide inconspicuous evidences will make it difficult for the liars to carry on disguising themselves.
