Today, on the 2nd of July 2010, I read a report that reminded me of a major theme of the messages by Bertha Dudde: How God again and again tries to get men's attention to test their will for good and to give them an opportunity to turn away from the wrong way and to turn to love and happiness. British-born author Christopher Hitchens on Wednesday cut short a book tour to undergo chemotherapy, which several media outlets reported was because the heavy smoker has been diagnosed with cancer.

As a journalist and critic, Hitchens has carved out a reputation for barbed, repartee, scathing critiques of public figures and a fierce intelligence.

In his 2008 book God Is Not Great, Hitchens put himself on a collision course with major religions with his trenchant atheist views.
